Are You Out There? Happy New Year!

Now we are officially back at work this week following our Christmas & New Years break, may we take this opportunity to wish you all the Happiest & Healthiest of New Years. Following a difficult start to 2007, the year could not have finished better for Limehouse, with the demand for the music of Philip Lynott as great and as relevant as it has ever been. Given the fantastic attendances, especially for this last quarter, we remain both delighted and humbled that so many of you would choose to come and see us as your act of choice to perform it.

2008 promises to be our biggest year yet! We have hit the ground running with not only our best mix of club and theatre venues yet (yes, we do listen to you – we realise not everyone likes sitting down, or intervals!) but some very exciting collaborations both onstage and off.

Rhodes Rock 2008 - for more info please visit: www.classicrocktours.com
We have recently been added to the bill of what can only be described as the ultimate holiday for classic rock fans. From the 18th to the 25th of June, you can join Led Zeppelin (Letz Zep) Pink Floyd (Think Floyd), Jimi Hendrix (Are You Experienced?) and Thin Lizzy (…guess!) on the Greek island of Rhodes for a purpose-made week of gigs and partying. Just think – weight training with Wayne, one-on-one guitar lessons and hair-care tips from John ‘Jimi’ Campbell and our own Tim, advice on pyro handling procedures with Julian, sampling Gregs patented ‘Suicide’ hangover cure, all after an evening of watching the bands doing what they are best at…surely a rockers dream come true! We will be featuring more on this in weeks to come but meanwhile, if you want to cut to the chase, just click on the link on our Links section on the main page of the website. This is gonna be HUGE, a trendsetter….

New Sponsors
We would first like to thank Harratts Mitsubishi (www.l200s.co.uk) for their continued support and assistance, with special thanks to MD David Mills for his help and also just being a good mate! Many of you will have seen David and his fledgling band ‘Telos’ as our special guests at a couple of our Yorkshire shows. You will definitely be seeing them at more!

Next to come to our aid are Excelsior Cases & Containers and Atlas Guitars...

Excelsior Cases - we are just back from our first factory visit to Excelsior Cases production facility! Great to meet Giles, Louise, and all the staff over in Bury. Excelsior will be servicing and supplying all our flightcases from guitars to amps and, of course, the mighty backdrop...They also manufacture and supply drum cases for Premier and Sonor drums and are putting together a set of drum cases for Andy.

We went through every single flightcase case we had in the van with Production Manager John, and the oldest surviving case we could find was an Excelsior snare case which has lasted over a decade, and has done over 2000 gigs! Enough said!! If you want a standard, or custom-made case that will last, please visit: www.excelsior-ltd.co.uk.

Atlas Guitars (www.atlas-customguitars.com) offer superbly crafted high-end instruments and we are privileged that Paul Cummings and his team are currently in the process of constructing guitars and basses for our use on the road.  First off the workbench will be a truly custom Les Paul-type guitar being designed by Greg and Paul. It promises to be a stunning piece that is causing much excitement between both Greg and Atlas themselves! The 5A grade quilted maple for the guitar front arrived from Canada last week - it looks awesome! We will hopefully be able to release interim construction photos before he receives the finished article, so keep watching!

Alan Davey & ‘Gunslinger’ (www.myspace.com/alandaveygunslinger)
Legendary former ‘Hawkwind’ bass player Alan Davey has formed a terrific powerhouse trio, ‘Gunslinger’ and has granted us the honour of agreeing to be our very special guest on selected gigs throughout the year whilst he breaks the new act in. Alan is renowned for the power and groove that he brought to not just Hawkwind but all of his projects. This an unmissable series of early performances, before Alan embarks upon the inevitable international festival and road work that will follow a player with his pedigree. You saw them first with us…

Keep checking back here for updates.
