On Sunday 16th at 9 am (what?) Sky TVs "Open Access" (Channel 883) are showing "Thin Lizzys amazing Sydney concert" that "shook the Harbour Bridge, filmed on the steps of the Opera House. Awesome!" Theyre not wrong neither, the energy of this gig was amazing. Featuring an almost splinter version of the usual Lizzy lineup, with Gary Moore in blistering form on lead guitar and Mark Nauseef more than capably filling in for an "exhausted" Brian Downey on drums the boys blaze their way through all the classics. For those of you who keep asking us where you can find live footage of Lizzy performing our adopted anthem "Me & The Boys", this is it! If, like us, you cant get up to watch it, or dont already have it on DVD, dont forget to set "record"...
ERIC BELL: we were all very pleased to meet original Thin Lizzy guitarist Eric Bell, when he came down to see our show at the Standard in Walthamstow. He played on the first three Thin Lizzy albums, and their most successful single "Whisky in the Jar“. The whole band got a chance to meet Eric after the gig and say hi - what a lovely bloke, and what a brilliant guitarist. Check his new band out at www.ericbellband.com
STOP PRESS - NEW YEARS EVE: after the usual brilliant night over at the Limelight Club in Crewe - completely sold out, totallly bonkers, grown men with their shirts off, inflatable guitars, wigs, bars drunk dry, and a full house singing "Whisky in the Jar“ for us at the end - we are pleased to announce that we will be playing the New Years Eve bash there. Whilst it may seem a tad early to announce this now, regulars will know that ticket-wise, forewarned is forearmed. You have been warned…
COXS DRY BAR...the bad news was as you already know, Coxs Yard in Stratford upon Avon was cancelled due to the floods; the good news is this date has now been re-scheduled for the 15th November 2007
MILKING COWES...headlined at Cowes week on Monday night (any excuse to get over to the Isle of Wight - what a great place!). Amongst the sponsors was Mumm Champagne, resulting in the place heaving with people who were partying hard! We played outdoors at night, and put on a full pyro/backrop display on the main stage in the harbour, much to the surprise of all passing ships…We are back on the Isle of Wight on the 29th September at the Ryde Theatre, see you there!
EMERALD...finally we have just confirmed some dates in Ireland in October, visiting Dublin, Waterford (will the floor hold out!?) and Cork. They are all in our "Tour Dates" page. Christmas dates are being finalised as we speak, and will be posted ASAP
